Of course, I'd also be remiss if I didn't make a plug for my missed connections blog, Biffed Connections. Because, while so many of us are lucky to have camps and events and wide friend circles and, well, cojones, some of us do not.
Last night was the inaugural event - our Launch Party - for my Burningman camp's first fundraiser music festival in July - SHIFT! We sampled some of the food to be provided at our hospitality kitchen for performers and volunteers ("Plates"!), drank booze provided by Tectonic camp's bar, marveled at some of the art from our family and friends, and generally got rowdy with excitement. Tickets went on sale just yesterday and are only $75 for the month of April! The event will be extremely intimate this year, with only 400 tickets and a line-up of 23 musicians/DJs, multiple spaces and theme camps, and a plethora of fire and art installations!
