Not spending as much time updating my blog here, but I have started out this year with another 30^30^30 flow/movement challenge and it's awesome! Even when I was too sick to actually do it. Follow me on instagram! ...and see you this Saturday at AGENCY!

You're probably keeping track of my Upcoming Gigs already, but in case you missed it, I'm really excited to announce that I'll be DJing again for Duty Free Tuesday at Teote in SE Portland (a 3-hour international sonic journey starting with eastern influenced trap and jumping through cumbia, moombahton, and global-influenced house beats!)
AND I'll be playing again this year at HOWL, Portland's biggest Halloween party (3 stages! all night! so much costume!) before heading down to Austin to see The Magician play on Halloween night. But first.... my entire set from Burn night at Tectonic, Burningman 2016! Oopsy. Where have I been for the last five months?
Opening for Thriftworks DJing FUN LUV'n's "Uniball." Playing cheesy disco at the Grilled Cheese Disco Performing with Cloud City Circus Hosting Bass in the Bass-ment Costume, MUA, Hair, artistic direction, and modeling for my final Trillium Hunt Photoshoot DJing all over the place at SOAK Shift Festival Pre-party at Uplift WTFestival & the Copa Clambana where I won the Golden Clam Award. 'Nuf said. Playing all that fun world beat I've been saving for FLIGHT Tropical Tribal Summer Party Getting sexy and weird at Bellydance v Burlesque: Deep Space V. Deep Sea Modeling for Modified Style Fashion Show DJing the Loud & Lit Bike Ride afterparty, pond party in Hood River, and on the beach for the fourth of July -- all in the same weekend. SHIFT Festival. It was absolutely bonkers amazing beautiful and HARD WORK. DJing at The Capitol in Bend Contributing tasty beats at a wedding at a beautiful forested lodge in Washington Sharing the airwaves with 9 other DJs at the FUN LUV'N/Living Prism Silent Disco on Sauvie's Island Burningman. I'm back and ready to hit the road back to Camp Meriweather for one of my favorite events of the year: Pacific Fire Gathering. For the lucky few with tickets this year - see you at the fire circle Thursday night! Last night was the inaugural event - our Launch Party - for my Burningman camp's first fundraiser music festival in July - SHIFT! We sampled some of the food to be provided at our hospitality kitchen for performers and volunteers ("Plates"!), drank booze provided by Tectonic camp's bar, marveled at some of the art from our family and friends, and generally got rowdy with excitement. Tickets went on sale just yesterday and are only $75 for the month of April! The event will be extremely intimate this year, with only 400 tickets and a line-up of 23 musicians/DJs, multiple spaces and theme camps, and a plethora of fire and art installations!
Of course, I'd also be remiss if I didn't make a plug for my missed connections blog, Biffed Connections. Because, while so many of us are lucky to have camps and events and wide friend circles and, well, cojones, some of us do not.
Too much fun? Nay! For I had fun, then more fun, then went to New Orleans and indeed had more fun.... until I got home and had ALL THE REST OF THE FUN playing at White Out! Here's the recording of my set...
In 53 hours I'll be hopping on a party bus with 19 of my closest friends to go to Bend and play another show with FUN LUV'N!
...but that's not all! We'll be spending the weekend hanging out, playing music, sleeping, eating, and... then coming home to catch a plane to New Orleans! I haven't been in ten years, since doing disaster relief with AmeriCorps and the Red Cross. I'm really excited to see if and how things have changed all over the city. I'm also excited to drink booze openly on the street. (It's the little things.) But then, fear not, because I will be playing a show back in Portland on February 20th - WHITE OUT! I just picked up some whites to wear, but it's slim pickin's out there so stock up now while you can! I'm honored to announce that I've been booked to play music for Portland's chapter of ChickTech (chicktech.org) to celebrate their new office space tonight. I love having the opportunity to support causes that hit so close to home!
Our Vision We envision a safe, inclusive, and innovative technology future that includes equal pay, participation, and treatment of women. Our Mission ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. Activities We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events to empower, support, and increase the confidence of women and girls. Through our events, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing high tech industry. I've been taking my time at home the last few weeks, enjoying the break from constant travel and deadlines... but it's about time to get moving. I can't wait for what February is bringing: out of state adventures, bus trips and big shows... the first up:
FUN LUV'N goes to Bend for Valentine's weekend! We're taking a party bus full of friends (and others are meeting us down there!) to The Capitol for our second FUN LUV'N show of many to come! Hope we'll see you there. I've got so much up my sleeve I can't wait to share. There was, as usual, a lull in my performance schedule over the holidays and January...and yet I'm about to embark on 5 straight weeks of multiple bookings, in multiple cities for old and new friends. What are YOU up to?
It's been a hell of a month, but I'm pleased to say that, with Winter Solstice less than a week away, I'm finally starting to see the light. Soon the days will be getting longer. The entire country slows down for "the holidays" and we have the opportunity to get cozy.
Last week I was the featured artist in the Underground Jungle music blog! I made them a mix and even included the track list - a rare occasion if you follow me - because hey, it's like a gift, and 'tis the season or something. =) Enjoy! |
